TikTokers fear for pets' souls after pastor insists Rapture comes tomorrow
Pastor Joshua Mhlakela has warned that Jesus will return on September 23 ‘whether you are ready or not’.
A recent viral video on TikTok has reignited a long-standing theological discussion within Christian communities: the fate of pets in the afterlife, particularly concerning the concept of the Rapture. Christian content creator Sarah_g505, known as "Sarah 🥰 | Christian Mom" to her followers, posted a video on September 7, 2023, addressing a viewer's query, "what's with our pets??? are the going with us or are they left behind? Is no one who think of that??" In her video, which has garnered over 120,000 views, Sarah_g505 shared her personal opinion, emphasizing that "there's nothing really in the Bible that addresses whether or not specifically our pets will make it to heaven." However, she presented three reasons for her belief that pets will indeed be present in heaven with their owners. "God made humans and humankind in his image," she explained, "He did not make animals in his image, but just like everything else on this Earth, animals are His creation. He said that it was good." She further elaborated, stating, "God stated in the Bible that humans and animals have the breath of life, meaning they have souls." Her second point highlighted God's inclusion of animals in Noah's Ark and His covenant with them, as mentioned "several times in the Bible." Finally, she cited the biblical prophecy of Jesus returning "riding a white horse," suggesting the presence of animals in the divine plan. Sarah_g505 concluded her argument by referencing a passage she interpreted to mean, "God states that He will not withhold anything that is good from those that walk uprightly." She expressed hope, saying, "He knows we love our pets, He knows the majority of people love their pets. When you are taken to heaven, [He] will not withhold anything that is good from those that are in the Kingdom amongst Him. That gives me hope that you'll see your fur babies." The discussion continues to resonate with pet-loving believers seeking comfort and answers regarding their beloved companions.
