01 / THE CONNECTION

A different world.
The same television instinct.

Before NEWStik, our founder worked in television as a producer and presenter. Systemic War brings that experience into a world the player can influence.

In this strategy game, events unfold through news coverage, political statements and reports. The creative task is to make those moments feel like television — with its framing, pace, graphics and sense of urgency.

Now I make television
inside a game.”

02 / INSIDE THE GAME

The world has a story.
Television tells it.

Systemic War uses video to bring its political and military events onto the player's screen. The familiar language of a broadcast makes a complex fictional situation immediate.

MOTION DESIGN

Giving the situation a shape.

Map graphics made in After Effects by NEWStik's founder turn a game scenario into a visual television explainer.

EVENT COVERAGE

The story leaves the studio.

A scene from the game's world becomes part of a news report. The broadcast graphics connect studio coverage, maps and events.

THE WORK TODAY

AI-generated events.
A television perspective.

Our founder now creates all of Systemic War's in-game video content. The current work is fully AI-based, generating political leaders and events for the game's fictional scenarios.

His television experience guides how those scenes are presented: what the audience sees first, how a situation is explained and how the footage holds together as a broadcast.

The selected frames above document the announcement trailer. The collaboration continues with new in-game video.

01 / FORMAT

Think like television.

Use the familiar structure of a report to introduce the situation and give the player context.

02 / WORLD

Create the events.

AI makes it possible to depict the leaders and situations called for by the game's fictional world.

03 / SCREEN

Shape the broadcast.

Bring the images together through editing and visual design, drawing on experience in broadcast production.

03 / THE TRAILERS

The broadcast
reaches a wider audience.

Trailer production is another part of the collaboration with Play of Battle. The announcement trailer brings the game's television world and strategy together.
