Bryansk Train Derailment: Seven Dead, Dozens Injured in Drone Attack

A train derailment in Bryansk Oblast, Russia, on June 1, 2025, resulted in seven deaths and 71 injuries. Among the victims was a family with young children; their mother perished, while her sons were hospitalized. Samvel Grigoryan, an Armenian passenger, recounted the incident: "I didn't hear an explosion, just a jolt, and then things started falling." The Russian Ministry of Defense attributed the incident to Ukrainian drone attacks, also targeting airfields in Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur Oblasts. Despite the tragedy, there were also acts of heroism and community support, as demonstrated by the outpouring of sympathy and assistance from local residents and emergency responders.
