TikTok Creator 4nine Alleges TV2 Misrepresented Her Stance on Men and Violence
Oslo, Norway – Popular TikTok content creator, known as 4nine, has publicly accused Norwegian broadcaster TV2 of severe misrepresentation after a clip from her video was used in their 'Versus' program. The creator claims TV2 selectively edited her original content, stripping it of crucial context and portraying her in a false light. In her original TikTok video, 4nine addressed comments accusing her of misandry while discussing the serious issue of violence against women. She posed a rhetorical question, 'What if I hate men? What then?' to highlight the disproportionate impact of male violence on women, stating, 'The worst thing that happens if I hate men is that you get a little annoyed, but when men hate women, we die.'However, according to 4nine, TV2 only used the isolated segment where she asks, 'What if I hate men? What then?' without including her subsequent explanation. This editing, she argues, completely distorted her message, making it appear as though she genuinely promotes hatred towards men.'They literally just continue to paint the picture that I hate men,' 4nine stated in her follow-up video, expressing profound anger and disappointment. She had initially granted permission for TV2 to use her clip and was even invited to participate in the program, an offer she declined due to prior commitments. Reflecting on the incident, she remarked, 'Now I know how you would have edited me if I had been there.'The incident has sparked a debate online regarding media ethics and the responsibility of broadcasters when using user-generated content, especially concerning sensitive social topics.
