The ceremony included the playing of both national anthems and a formal military honor guard. "This visit signifies the strong and growing relationship between Laos and Malaysia," said a Malaysian government official, highlighting the importance of the discussions on trade, defense, education, and the halal industry. Siphandone's visit is expected to further solidify the diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries in the context of the broader ASEAN community.
