Malaysia's Trade Soars to RM219.4 Billion in April 2025 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Malaysia's trade volume surged to RM219.4 billion in April 2025, according to Chief Statistician Datuk Sri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin. This remarkable increase was primarily driven by robust export growth across seven key states. "This surge is supported by export growth in seven major states," stated Dr. Mahidin, emphasizing the collective contribution of RM219.4 billion to state trade. The seven states collectively contributed significantly to the national trade figures. Pulau Pinang emerged as the leading contributor to export growth, with a substantial increase. Conversely, Selangor recorded the highest increase in imports, highlighting the diverse economic activities within the country. While some states experienced export declines, including Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, Sarawak, Kedah, Kelantan, Labuan, and Sabah, the overall positive trend underscores Malaysia's economic resilience and growth potential. Selangor's significant import increase, amounting to RM9 billion, solidified its position as the nation's largest importer, representing a 29.7% increase. The data offers a positive outlook on Malaysia's economic health and its continued growth trajectory.
