

Warehouse Fire in Petaling Jaya Quickly Contained
A fire broke out at a cold storage warehouse located near Jalan Cempaka, Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, at approximately 7:52 AM on May 30, 2025. The fire rapidly spread, damaging around 60% of the two-story building. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) responded swiftly, dispatching the first team from the Damansara fire station within eight minutes. According to operation commander Muhammad Munir Suib, "The fire involved a two-story Class A building measuring 36 x 150 square feet. It was fully controlled by approximately 8:30 AM thanks to the rapid response of the fire crews." The operation involved 13 firefighters and 7 fire engines, including two water tankers and two EMRS units from various stations in Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Rawang, Bukit Jelutong, and TTDI. No injuries were reported. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the full extent of the damage. The swift action of the JBPM prevented a potentially much larger disaster, highlighting the importance of rapid response in emergency situations.
