They pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to commit zina (illegal sexual intercourse) on February 28, 2025. The incident came to light after images and videos of the pair circulated online, prompting speculation and public discussion. The court heard that the couple's actions took place at a house in Taman Bukit Emas, Sungai Petai. Syariah Judge Mohamad Yunus Mohamad Zain delivered the sentence, noting that the offense carries a maximum penalty of a RM5,000 fine or 36 months imprisonment, or both. "They were charged under Section 52 of the Syariah Offences Enactment of Melaka 1991," a court official stated. Both individuals, aged 31, expressed remorse for their actions and vowed not to repeat them. The man, a father of three, also took responsibility for his involvement with the single mother. The judge's decision reflects the seriousness of the offense while also acknowledging the circumstances of the case.
