They pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to commit zina (illegal sexual intercourse) on February 28, 2025. The court heard that the couple's actions took place at a house in Taman Bukit Emas, Sungai Petai. Syariah Judge Mohamad Yunus Mohamad Zain delivered the sentence, noting that the offense carries a maximum penalty of a RM5,000 fine or 36 months imprisonment, or both. "They were charged under Section 52 of the Syariah Offences Enactment of Melaka 1991," a court official stated. Both individuals, aged 31, expressed remorse for their actions and vowed not to repeat them. The man, a father of three, also took responsibility for his involvement with the single mother. The judge's decision reflects the seriousness of the offense while also acknowledging the circumstances of the case.
