Final Hajj Flight Departs: Minister's Plea for Energy Conservation Amidst Heat
Malaysia's Final Hajj Flight Departs: Minister Urges Pilgrims to Conserve Energy Amidst Heatwave The final flight carrying Malaysian Hajj pilgrims to Jeddah for the 2025 pilgrimage departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on June 1st, 2025. Approximately 350 pilgrims were on board. This event is significant for the large number of Malaysian Muslims undertaking this religious journey. The hot weather in Mecca and Arafah is a major concern. Datuk Dr. Mohammad Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), addressed the pilgrims before their departure. He emphasized the importance of conserving energy in the extreme heat. "I advise our Hajj pilgrims, especially those who have five or six days left before the wukuf, to drink plenty of water, take care of themselves, and if possible, stay in their accommodations to avoid overexposure to the heat," he stated. His concern reflects the potential health risks associated with the intense heat during the Hajj pilgrimage. The smooth departure of the final flight marks a successful conclusion to the transportation phase of this year's Hajj for Malaysia. The focus now shifts to the pilgrims' spiritual journey and their safe return home.
