10-Year Housing Wait Ends for Simpang Renggam Homebuyers
Homebuyers in Simpang Renggam, Johor, finally receive house ownership certificates after a 10-year wait. The Taman Permata Layang housing project, plagued by delays for over a decade, has finally reached a resolution. On Sunday, Johor's Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, personally handed over the Sijil Layak Memiliki Rumah (SLMR) certificates to the affected homebuyers. "It wasn't easy," said Datuk Onn, referring to the complex process of resolving the issue. He emphasized the state government's commitment to tackling stalled projects and preventing similar situations in the future. The project involved the construction of 47 affordable housing units, with prices starting from RM42,000. The event was attended by numerous homebuyers, government officials, and representatives from various agencies, underscoring the collaborative effort to resolve the long-standing issue. This successful resolution serves as a symbol of hope for other stalled housing projects in Johor.
