The news was confirmed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in a Facebook post on June 3, 2025. "Sultan Brunei has returned to Bandar Seri Begawan after completing his treatment at the IJN," stated Prime Minister Ibrahim's post. He also expressed his hope for the Sultan's continued good health and recovery. The Sultan's visit to Malaysia was initially for the 46th ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur from May 26-27. Following his participation in the summit, he received medical attention at the IJN. The Brunei Prime Minister's office previously announced the Sultan's departure from the IJN on May 31st. The Sultan's return marks a positive conclusion to his medical journey in Malaysia, highlighting the cooperation between the two nations.
