Hajj 2025: Tech Monitors Smooth Pilgrimage to Arafah
Mecca Hajj 2025: Smooth Pilgrimage to Arafah Monitored in Real-Time The annual Hajj pilgrimage is underway, and this year, technology is playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth movement of millions of pilgrims. Astro AWANI gained exclusive access to the 24-hour operations room in Mecca, where officials are using a sophisticated digital dashboard to monitor the transportation of pilgrims to Arafah. "At 11:12 am today, 180 buses had already departed for Arafah, and 119 had arrived," explained Mohd Hisham Harun, head of the Hajj group, while pointing to the real-time data displayed on multiple screens. The dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of bus movements, allowing officials to quickly identify and address any potential issues. This technology helps to minimize delays and ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims. The operations room is staffed by seven dedicated personnel who continuously monitor the situation and provide updates. "Every time a bus departs from the accommodation or arrives in Arafah, our team sends a report," Harun added. The system's accuracy allows for an estimated 5,577 pilgrims to have already reached Arafah by the time of the report. This real-time monitoring system is a testament to the technological advancements in managing large-scale events like the Hajj pilgrimage, ensuring safety and efficiency for all involved.
