Malaysia Welcomes Guinea-Bissau President, Eyes Strategic African Partnership Malaysia is strengthening its ties with Africa, as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described the visit of Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló as a significant step towards expanding cooperation. The three-day visit, which concluded on Thursday, is expected to open doors for bilateral collaborations in various sectors. "Guinea-Bissau has the potential to be a strategic gateway for Malaysia into Africa," said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during a press conference. He emphasized the importance of leveraging this partnership to foster positive momentum in the West African region. The areas of cooperation identified include halal products, Islamic finance, education, semiconductors, oil and gas, and food technology. Malaysia also plans to offer training and technical assistance through programs like the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). President Embaló's visit marks a new chapter in the relationship between Malaysia and Guinea-Bissau, signaling a commitment to closer ties and mutual benefit.
