MACC Freezes Assets of Daim Zainuddin's Family Amidst Investigation Kuala Lumpur, June 4, 2025 – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) announced today that it has frozen seven properties and one bank account linked to the family of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin. This action is part of an ongoing investigation, according to MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki. "This is part of the initial steps taken by the commission to conduct further investigations," said Tan Sri Azam Baki in a statement released by Astro AWANI. The properties are located both domestically and internationally, with reports indicating that some are luxury residences in London. The total value of the frozen assets is estimated at RM758.2 million. The MACC's investigation is focused on allegations of undeclared assets and potential violations of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. The court order to freeze the assets was granted on Tuesday. The swift action underscores the MACC's commitment to upholding the rule of law and combating corruption in Malaysia.
