Hajj 2025: A Symbol of Unity in the Muslim World
The Hajj pilgrimage, an annual Islamic event, serves as a powerful symbol of unity for Muslims globally. This year, the message of unity resonated strongly, particularly in light of recent divisions within the Muslim community. In a recent sermon delivered by Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), he emphasized the importance of the Hajj in bringing Muslims together from all walks of life, transcending differences in ethnicity, culture, and language. "Ibadah haji adalah manifestasi maqasid sosial Islam – menyatukan hati umat Muhammad SAW agar tidak terus lemah, terpinggir dan kehilangan arah." (Hajj is a manifestation of the social objectives of Islam – uniting the hearts of the followers of Prophet Muhammad so that they do not remain weak, marginalized, and lose direction.) The Minister's words were echoed by the visuals of the Hajj, showing thousands of pilgrims performing the rituals together, a powerful demonstration of shared faith and purpose. This year's Hajj serves as a reminder of the unifying power of faith and the importance of overcoming divisions to build a stronger and more harmonious Muslim community.
