Selangor's Ambitious Rail Project: Connecting Airports, Ports, and Industry Selangor, Malaysia, is set to undergo a significant transformation with the launch of a new rail project. This ambitious initiative aims to connect key transportation hubs, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Subang Airport, Port Klang, and the future Pulau Carey port, creating a powerful aviation and logistics network. The project, first proposed months ago, is expected to take up to 10 years to complete, according to Tengku Zaihan, chairman of the Selangor Investment, Trade and Industry, and Mobility Corporation. He stated that the construction will be phased, ensuring a manageable and efficient implementation. Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, emphasized the project's importance in transforming Selangor into a major aviation and logistics hub. "This rail system will change Selangor into a powerful center for aviation and integrated logistics," he said. The project's scale is immense, covering 242.811 hectares. It is designed not only to improve connectivity but also to attract international aerospace companies and boost Malaysia's aerospace industry. Amirudin Shari highlighted the potential for increased economic activity and job creation, positioning Selangor as a leading player in the regional aerospace sector. The project is expected to create a more integrated and efficient transportation system, benefiting both businesses and residents of Selangor and the Klang Valley.
