15 Students Killed in Malaysian Bus Crash: Permits Revoked
A fatal bus accident in Malaysia claimed the lives of 15 university students. Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the bus operator violated two major regulations. The operator failed to maintain proper vehicle permits and neglected to submit GPS data. "The owner had two permits, one from the Ministry of Transport for operating a stage bus, and another from the Land Public Transport Agency. However, the owner had sublet the permit to a party in Kelantan for only RM500 a month," said Loke. This illegal subletting and failure to provide GPS data led to the revocation of all permits. A more detailed forensic report is underway. Police are investigating and will take further action. This tragic event underscores the importance of strict adherence to transportation safety regulations.
