
MACC Intensifies Investigation into Tan Sri Over Highway Sukuk Fund Misappropriation
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - June 11, 2025 - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is intensifying its investigation into a prominent figure, a Tan Sri, suspected of misappropriating funds designated for highway construction projects in the Klang Valley. The investigation has led to the seizure of assets totaling approximately RM143 million. According to Astro AWANI's Faida Rahim, who reported live from outside the Tan Sri's residence, "...the main gate to the property has been closed since 11:30 am today, with a significant media presence gathered outside." The MACC has reportedly summoned 45 witnesses to aid in the investigation. The Tan Sri Azizan Bakri, MACC's chief commissioner, stated that the highway concession holder is a key witness in the ongoing investigation. The MACC is also pursuing assets both domestically and internationally, including locations in London and Switzerland.
