Community Mourns Baby's Death, Offers $7,500 Reward for Justice
A vigil was held Tuesday evening in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood for two-month-old Kayson Flowers, who died last month. His mother, Kayla Flowers, and Roseland Christian Ministries are seeking justice and offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide due to multiple injuries and signs of child abuse. "This is heartbreaking for me," said Kayla Flowers in an interview shown in the video. "I want justice for my son." Pastor Joe Huizenga of Roseland Christian Ministries stated that the church is committed to supporting Kayla and seeking justice for Kayson, even after his death. Chicago police are investigating but have not yet identified any suspects.
