Ghanaian Student Arrested for Possessing Gun at School

A 16-year-old student was arrested in Ghana after a locally manufactured gun was found in his dormitory during a routine search at Osei Kyeretwie Secondary School (OKESS). The Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command reported the incident. The student claimed the firearm belonged to his stepfather, Mr. Daniel Osu Bemfi. Both individuals were granted bail and must report to the police on May 19th for further investigation. This incident raises questions about school safety and the ease of access to firearms in Ghana. A police spokesperson stated, "This is a very serious matter, and we are committed to investigating thoroughly." The school is cooperating with the police investigation.
