Saudi Arabia Prepares for Historic Hajj Season: 60% Increase in Operational Capacity to Ensure Pilgrim Comfort Saudi Arabia is gearing up for its largest ever Hajj operation, with a 60% increase in capacity compared to last year. This ambitious undertaking, reported by Al Arabiya, underscores the kingdom's commitment to providing a safe and comfortable experience for millions of pilgrims. The preparations involve a massive mobilization of resources, including a significant expansion of medical facilities and transportation networks. "The Saudi authorities are preparing for the largest operational undertaking in the history of Hajj," stated Sultan Al Salmi, an Al Arabiya correspondent reporting from the scene. "This includes a 60% increase compared to last year to ensure the comfort of the pilgrims." The Ministry of Health has deployed 50,000 medical and technical personnel across the holy sites. A new emergency hospital with 200 beds has been established, in addition to three field hospitals with a capacity of 1200 beds. Furthermore, 11 air evacuation aircraft and 900 equipped ambulances are on standby to provide emergency medical services. The improvements extend to transportation, with 72 domestic and international airlines facilitating the arrival of pilgrims. The expansion of cooling systems along Mina's pathways by over 85% aims to mitigate the impact of extreme heat, expected to reach over 50°C in the coming days.
