Spanish Youth Reveal Dream Jobs: Psychology Tops the Charts
Spanish Youth Value Psychology Highly, UNICEF Survey Reveals A recent UNICEF Spain survey reveals that psychology is one of the most highly valued professions among Spanish children and adolescents. The study, which surveyed 15,000 young people aged 11-18, found that psychology received an average score of 7.96 out of 10. Only medicine and police scored higher. The results highlight the importance of considering children's and adolescents' perspectives on societal issues and their aspirations for the future. The study also reveals a significant gender gap in the valuation of certain professions, with girls rating education and psychology professions significantly higher than boys. "These results underscore the importance of giving a voice to children and adolescents to understand their concerns and interests," said Àlex Letosa, a psychology expert commenting on the study. The findings suggest a need to address gender stereotypes and encourage greater diversity in professional choices among young people.
