‘We're exploring the seedy underbelly of New York’
London, UK – Actor Michael Cyril Creighton, known for his role as Howard in the acclaimed series "Only Murders in the Building," recently sat down for an exclusive interview, offering a glimpse into the highly anticipated fifth season. Creighton revealed that the upcoming season will mark a notable departure in tone, promising a "darker, grittier" exploration of New York City. "Season 5 almost kind of takes a turn into like the darker shadowy corners of New York," Creighton stated, hinting at a deeper dive into the city's less glamorous aspects. He elaborated, "We're sort of exploring the seedy underbelly of New York, be it the money and the mob, you know, who really runs this city." This suggests a more intense narrative arc for the beloved characters. Despite the darker themes, Creighton assured fans that the show's fundamental appeal remains intact. "What I love about the show so much is that its core stays the same, it's very funny, it has a lot of heart," he explained. He praised the series' ability to evolve, adding, "Every season they've reinvented itself in a way that keeps it really fresh and not boring." He believes this reinvention will keep viewers engaged, noting, "I think it's exciting. I think it's a little grittier in certain points and there's so many surprises and I love it." The first three episodes of "Only Murders in the Building" Season 5 are scheduled to be released on September 9th, available on Disney+ UK and Hulu in the US.
