Gaza Aid Hub Attack: At Least 30 Palestinians Killed in Israeli Fire
Israeli forces opened fire on a group of Palestinians waiting for aid in Rafah, Gaza, on June 1st, 2025, resulting in at least 30 deaths and over 100 injuries. The incident occurred near an aid distribution center run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Eyewitness Ibrahim Abu Saud stated, "They said there was aid and we were supposed to enter at 5:30. We were advancing toward the Al-Alam roundabout near the sea, and there was a lot of gunfire." The GHF, however, claims Israeli forces only fired "warning shots" and denies reports of injuries. The attack comes as Hamas criticized the text of a US-backed ceasefire proposal, stating it doesn't guarantee aid or a permanent Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. This tragic event underscores the ongoing conflict and the urgent need for a lasting peace solution.
