Hate Crime Charges Filed After Firebombing at Boulder Rally
A man named Mohamed Sabry Soliman was arrested and charged with a federal hate crime for firebombing a rally in Boulder, Colorado on June 1st, 2025. The attack injured a dozen people, some severely. According to Acting US Attorney for Colorado, J. Bishop Grewell, Soliman admitted to planning the attack for a year and stated that he acted out of hatred for what he called the "Zionist group." Soliman also faces 16 state-level attempted murder charges. The rally, known as the "Run for Their Lives" walk, takes place every Sunday on Pearl Street. One student interviewed stated that while discussion about Zionism is acceptable, inciting violence against Zionists is dangerous. Soliman, who is not a US citizen, originally planned to use a gun but could not legally purchase one. The video concludes with a somber reflection on the event and its implications for the community.
