Ukraine Repels Massive Russian Missile Barrage
Ukraine's Air Force spokesperson, Yuriy Ihnat, reported on a massive Russian missile attack on June 6th, 2025. The attack involved over 450 targets across Ukraine, including the use of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as numerous UAVs. "Today, we faced a record number of enemy targets in the sky," Ihnat stated in a short video address. Ukrainian air defenses engaged, successfully intercepting a large portion of the incoming projectiles. The attack targeted various regions, with Ihnat specifically mentioning the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions as entry points for many of the incoming weapons. While precise numbers were still being compiled, Ihnat indicated a substantial number of missiles and UAVs were destroyed by Ukrainian forces. The successful defense highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense systems, particularly in light of the sheer scale of the Russian attack. The event underscores the ongoing conflict and the importance of continued international support for Ukraine's defense capabilities.
