Veterinár Amir Anwary prezradil päť najzdravších psích plemien, s ktorými ušetríš stovky eur na veterinárovi. Niektoré z nich ťa poriadne prekvapia.
Veterinarian Amir Anwary, known as @amirthevet on TikTok, recently shared insights into the top five healthiest dog breeds, emphasizing those that typically incur the lowest veterinary expenses. Anwary's recommendations aim to inform prospective and current dog owners about breeds with strong genetic health and fewer predispositions to common ailments. According to Anwary, the Beagle ranks fifth, noted for its robust immune system and minimal genetic issues. He stated, "The main problem you're going to have to deal with here is obesity, because they love eating everything, and a few ear infections. Otherwise, they're really healthy." This breed, originally bred for hunting, maintains a strong constitution. Coming in at number four is the Australian Shepherd. Anwary highlighted their high energy and beauty, adding that "the working lines have a very strong genetic base with very few genetic abnormalities." He explained that responsible breeding practices prevent the propagation of genetic diseases, contributing to the breed's overall health. Surprisingly, the Chihuahua secured the third spot. "This breed can live up to 20 years. They are very, very healthy and because they're so small, this often puts so little pressure on their joints that their joints survive for very, very long," Anwary remarked. While they may suffer from dental disease and luxating patellas, he considers them among the healthiest toy breeds. For the second position, Anwary named the Australian Cattle Dog, describing it as "a very active, very intelligent, working breed with a very strong and robust immune system." He noted that genetic conditions are minimized through good breeding, and impressively, the oldest dog to ever live was a 29-year-old Australian Cattle Dog. Topping the list at number one is the Basenji. Many may be unfamiliar with this ancient African hunting dog, which is unique for its yodeling rather than barking. Anwary attributed its exceptional health to its status as an ancient purebred dog that has been minimally inbred. "If you're looking for a dog that doesn't bark and that's pretty healthy, Basenji is definitely for you," he concluded.
