In a recent online video, mechanic Ángel Gaitan has shed light on the pervasive issue of fraud within the used car market, specifically demonstrating how a seemingly well-maintained Audi A7 could hide significant defects and manipulated mileage. Gaitan, who operates under the moniker 'Marcial el Comercial' ironically to expose deceptive sales tactics, initially presented the 2012 Audi A7, boasting 167,000 kilometers, as an attractive purchase. However, he quickly pivoted to reveal a stark reality. Upon closer inspection, Gaitan uncovered evidence suggesting the vehicle's odometer had been tampered with, indicating a true mileage exceeding 400,000 kilometers. Furthermore, he highlighted extensive rust on the undercarriage, significant oil leaks, and issues with the transmission cooler and potentially manipulated electronics. 'A lot of things that a commercial would not tell you,' Gaitan stated, emphasizing the critical information often withheld from unsuspecting buyers. He warned viewers that such issues could lead to substantial repair costs and legal complications, advising potential buyers to conduct thorough inspections and consider legal recourse against fraudulent sellers. 'It's not enough to just look at the car; you need a proper diagnosis,' he added, stressing the need for professional evaluation to avoid costly mistakes.
