Panama City Celebrates the Start of Pride Month with Flag Raising Ceremony Panama City, June 2, 2025 – Panama City's Casco Viejo district was awash in color this Sunday as Liza Hernández, flag-bearer of the Pride March, raised the Pride flag, marking the official start of Pride Month in Panama. The event, attended by representatives of the LGBTIQ+ community and international allies, symbolized the growing acceptance and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community in Panama. Among those present were Jorge Peralta from the Spanish Embassy, Keithlyn De La Fressange, Ambassador of the March, and representatives from various LGBTQ+ organizations. The atmosphere was one of celebration and hope, as attendees expressed their excitement for the upcoming Pride March scheduled for June 28th. "This is the eighth flag raising since we began Panama Pride," commented Franklyn Robinson, president of Panama Pride. "We invite everyone to join us in the march on June 28th, starting at 3:00 PM from Calle 13 in Casco Viejo." The event served as a powerful symbol of unity and a call for continued progress towards equality and inclusion in Panama.
