Valencia Beaches Reopen After Mysterious Pellet Spill
Several beaches in the Safor region of Valencia, Spain, were temporarily closed on June 10th due to an unusual spill of small, white pellets. The incident caused concern among local residents and tourists, leading to the immediate closure of beaches in Daimús, Bellreguard, Miramar, Oliva, Guardamar, and Gandia. Authorities quickly responded, collecting samples for analysis. "We acted swiftly to ensure public safety," stated Robert Miñana, mayor of Daimús, in an interview with À Punt Mèdia. After tests confirmed the substance was non-toxic, the beaches were reopened. This rapid response and the non-toxic nature of the spill prevented a major disruption to the region's crucial tourism sector. The origin of the spill remains under investigation.
