Five Children Die in West Kazakhstan House Fire

Five children perished in a house fire in the village of Zhympyt, West Kazakhstan region, on June 5, 2025. The tragic incident occurred while their parents were at work. The children, aged 8 months to 6 years, died from smoke inhalation. A relative of the family, Jumakan Ombetiyarov, shared his grief, stating, “With support, perhaps this tragedy could have been prevented. Now they have lost five children at once.” The family, known as the Sabirovs, faced difficult financial circumstances and had only recently moved to Zhympyt. The incident underscores the need for improved fire safety measures and social support for vulnerable families. The funeral took place on June 6th.
