Moscow Hosts 13th International Security Forum: Global South and East Take Center Stage The 13th International Meeting of High-Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters concluded in Moscow on May 31, 2025, bringing together over 100 delegations from around the world. The three-day forum focused on shaping a new architecture of equal security for all nations, addressing challenges and opportunities in the global landscape. Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, highlighted the significance of the Global South and East in achieving global security. He emphasized the need for a multipolar world order and the importance of cooperation among nations. "The main theme is the Global South, the East, and the indivisible security for all," Shoigu stated during the closing ceremony. Valery Semerikov, Deputy Secretary-General of the CSTO, noted the significant shift in the balance of global power in the mid-2020s, stating, "A real revolution in the balance of global forces is being observed." He emphasized the growing role of African and Eastern nations in international security affairs. David Maduka, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo, expressed the desire for the international community to listen to the concerns of African nations and to work towards peace and stability. "Our people are tired of conflicts," Maduka stated, "We dream that the world community will listen to our call and that peace will be restored in our country."
