Mexico City, June 28, 2025 – During a recent morning press conference, the Mexican government publicly detailed the extensive tax debt owed by Grupo Salinas. Fiscal Prosecutor Grisel Galeano presented information indicating that the conglomerate's outstanding tax liabilities amount to 74 billion pesos. This debt has been subject to litigation for 16 years, spanning 32 cases across various judicial bodies, including the Supreme Court of Justice, Collegiate Tribunals, District Courts, and Administrative Tribunals. President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo also addressed the issue, stating that TV Azteca, a media entity under Grupo Salinas, does not receive official government advertising due to its unpaid taxes. In response, Grupo Salinas issued a statement accusing the government of harassment and political pressure. The government maintains its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all entities fulfill their tax obligations.
