Tijuana Fire: Woman's Rage Leaves Seven Families Homeless
Tijuana Fire Leaves Seven Families Homeless A devastating fire in the El Soler neighborhood of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, on Sunday, May 26, 2025, left seven families without homes and possessions. The fire started when a woman, reportedly angered by a personal dispute, set her own house ablaze. Neighbors stated the woman had warned them she would burn her house down. "She told me to leave," recounted Dominga Nava, one of the affected residents, "She said, 'Dominga, get out! This house is going to burn!'" Nava's warning allowed her to escape with her life, but she lost everything she owned. The fire quickly spread due to the highly flammable materials in the densely packed neighborhood. Footage shows homes reduced to ashes, with families left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. The reporter, Martín Méndez, described the scene as "heartbreaking." The community is rallying to provide food, clothing, and other necessities to help the affected families rebuild their lives. Efforts are underway to collect donations and provide temporary shelter.
