Kindergarten on the Brink: 110 Children's Safety at Risk in Chilpancingo
In the heart of Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico, lies a kindergarten where the safety of 110 children is under threat. The school's unfortunate location, adjacent to the Barranca Alpuyeca ravine, has created a dangerous situation. Recently, heavy rainfall, exacerbated by a vehicle obstructing the drainage system, caused a significant overflow, damaging the access road to the school. "The drainage is practically superficial," explains Karina Guerrero, a concerned parent. "In rainy seasons, the water flows much faster, and we have to cross the ravine, which is very dangerous for the children." The school director, Julia Oryozabal González, echoes these concerns, advocating for a new, higher bridge with railings to ensure the children's safety. The local authorities have yet to respond to Azteca Noticias' inquiry about plans to address this critical issue, leaving the community anxiously awaiting a solution to protect their children. This situation highlights the urgent need for improved infrastructure and safety measures in the area.
