Life in Spain: A Latina's Perspective on Cultural Surprises
Moving to a new country always brings unexpected experiences. Azul En Málaga, a Latina vlogger living in Spain, recently shared her observations on some significant cultural differences between her home country, Argentina, and her adopted home. In a recent video, she highlights three key areas: the condition of police vehicles, the types of cars used for ride-sharing services, and the state of road infrastructure.
Regarding police cars, Azul notes a stark contrast. "In Argentina, you often see police cars that are older and sometimes damaged," she explains. "But here in Spain, they seem to be newer and in better condition." This observation reflects differences in government spending and resource allocation.
The ride-sharing experience also proved surprising. Azul recounts, "The other day I ordered an Uber, and a Tesla showed up! I was so surprised." This unexpected luxury highlights differences in the ride-sharing market and income levels.
Finally, Azul compares the state of roads. She shows a picture of a potholed street in her Argentinian neighborhood, contrasting it with the generally better-maintained roads in her Spanish neighborhood. "The difference is striking," she says. "Here in Spain, people complain about the roads, but compared to Argentina, it's a world of difference."
Azul's video offers a glimpse into the everyday cultural adjustments faced by immigrants. Her experiences underscore the importance of understanding and adapting to different cultural norms and expectations.
