Kazakhstan Freezes Tuition Fees for 2025, Expands Grant Programs
Kazakhstan's Minister of Science, Sayasat Nurbek, recently announced that tuition fees at universities will remain unchanged in 2025. This decision comes as a relief to many students and families concerned about rising education costs. Nurbek stated, "In state universities, we are maintaining tuition fees at last year's level." This commitment to affordability is further supported by a substantial increase in government grants. Over 78,000 grants are allocated for bachelor's programs, and over 100,000 for vocational training. The Minister also acknowledged concerns about the cost of education, particularly in regional areas, but emphasized the government's efforts to make higher education more accessible. The government is actively working to ensure that students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to pursue higher education. This includes the recent launch of the Kelіshek program, offering additional support to students. With the combination of affordable tuition and numerous grants, Kazakhstan is taking significant steps towards ensuring access to higher education for all.
