Belarus Potato Planting Exceeds Expectations in Gomel Region
Gomel Region, Belarus, Reaches 91% of Potato Planting Plan The Gomel region of Belarus has made significant progress in its potato planting efforts, with 91% of the planned area already planted. This was reported in a recent news segment featuring interviews with local agricultural experts. According to Elena Filippovish, Head of the Department of Plant Intensification of the Gomel Regional Committee on Agriculture and Food, the remaining areas are largely smaller farms. "The remaining areas are mainly due to late-season cabbage planting," she explained. Irina Pavlok, an agronomist-seed producer from the Tikhini agricultural enterprise in the Rogachev district, added, "We have two planters that are capable of planting, and we use them. We also have three harvesting combines, and we have sufficient transport." The use of high-quality seeds ensures a bountiful harvest. This successful planting season signifies positive prospects for the region's agricultural output.
