
CIS Mission Reports on Free and Fair Election Monitoring in Belarus
MINSK, BELARUS – The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) observer mission has released an interim report on its monitoring of Belarus's upcoming presidential election preparations. The report, published on January 20th, 2025, highlights the presence of 290 accredited observers, 40 of whom are working on a long-term basis. The mission's findings indicate that since December 18th, the monitoring process has been conducted freely and independently, without interference in the electoral process or internal affairs. The report specifically notes the systematic and efficient work of the Central Election Commission in managing the electoral period, creating equal conditions for all participating candidates. Candidates and their representatives have been utilizing all legally provided opportunities for campaigning, according to the report.
