Belarusian Coca-Cola Banned in Russia Over Preservative Levels and Labeling Issues
Moscow, June 19, 2025 – Russian authorities have announced a ban on the sale of Belarusian-produced Coca-Cola within the Russian Federation. The decision stems from two primary concerns: the detection of an excessive level of a specific preservative in the beverage and the absence of Russian language labeling on the product packaging. According to official statements, Belarusian Coca-Cola products are to be removed from Russian retail shelves until the identified violations are rectified. This development follows Coca-Cola's official withdrawal from the Russian market, which led to the introduction of a local alternative, "Dobry Cola." Despite the ban on Belarusian imports and the presence of a domestic substitute, sources indicate that original Coca-Cola products continue to enter Russia via parallel import schemes from Belarus.
