A taste of Belarus: Traditional cuisine takes center stage at Vytoki festival. The annual Vytoki festival, held in Belarus, recently showcased the nation's rich culinary heritage. A segment of the festival, titled "Food with Sense," offered attendees a chance to sample traditional regional dishes. Kseniya Gresko, director of the Postavsky District Culture and Folk Art Center, described the event as both "responsible and exciting." The festival attracted a wide range of participants, including Viktor Lukashenko, President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, who sampled the local fare. Among the featured dishes were draniki (potato pancakes) and kleski (dumplings), both included in Belarus' intangible cultural heritage list. One attendee, Dmitriy Efimenko, shared his positive experience, stating, "It was very tasty and interesting, thank you." The festival provided a delightful opportunity to experience Belarusian culture and traditions through its cuisine, highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting the nation's culinary heritage.
