A robbery suspect was shot and killed by police in Kampung Palembang, Keluang, Malaysia, on May 22, 2025, after attacking officers with a parang (machete) during an attempted escape. Johor Police Chief Datuk M. Kumar stated that the suspect, believed to be an Indonesian national, was shot after aggressively assaulting police. "The suspect was in a state of aggression and attacked the officers with the parang," said Datuk Kumar. The incident resulted in the suspect's death at the scene. The police operation also led to the solving of six robbery cases in Keluang and Kota Tinggi, with the recovery of RM1900 in cash, two mobile phones, and the suspect's motorcycle.
