Melaka Initiatives Shine: Food Waste Turned to Fertilizer, Radio Station's Success, and Negeri Sembilan Tourism Launch. Melaka, Malaysia – In a recent report, the Rumah Kompos Madani initiative in Pantai Siiring, Melaka, has been highlighted for its innovative approach to food waste management. This project, spearheaded by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, transforms food waste into organic fertilizer, providing a sustainable solution and generating additional income for the local fishing community. "The program has been successful in reducing food waste and creating a valuable resource for our community," said Abu Hasan Othman, a participant in the project. Meanwhile, Melaka FM radio station celebrated a significant increase in social media engagement, exceeding 43 million interactions in April 2025. Pengarah Penyiaran Melaka, Siti Nurbaini Khairi, attributes this success to the station's commitment to its listeners and its strong online presence. Looking ahead, Negeri Sembilan is gearing up for its "Tahun Melawat Negeri Sembilan 2026" tourism campaign, focusing on beach tourism, cultural heritage, and community engagement. The campaign aims to attract a wider range of tourists and boost the local economy. These diverse initiatives showcase Melaka's commitment to sustainability, community development, and tourism.
