Surau Construction in Putrajaya: Contractor Faces Pressure to Meet Deadline
Construction of a new surau in Putrajaya, Malaysia, is underway, with the contractor under pressure to meet the deadline. The project, overseen by the MAIWP, faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and technical issues. "The contractor and consultants must ensure that the surau project in all areas is completed on schedule," stated Datuk Dr. Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs). The surau, initially designed for 710 congregants, will now accommodate over 1710, thanks to MAIWP's decision to increase its capacity. This expansion will serve the growing community's needs. The surau is expected to be operational on June 1st.
