The city celebrated its 19th anniversary with the launch of a month-long series of events, officially opened by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor. The festivities included a diverse range of programs, promising a vibrant month of activities. Simultaneously, a significant Klang River cleanup initiative took place, bringing together 500 participants from various sectors. The initiative, supported by the local government, aimed to raise public awareness about environmental responsibility. "This program is not just about cleaning the river," stated Datuk Bandar Petaling Jaya, "it's about fostering a sense of community ownership and environmental stewardship." The collected waste will be processed and sold, with proceeds benefiting the participating fishermen's association. Adding to the day's events was the "Larian Wira 2025" night run, attracting over 10,000 participants. Lieutenant General Datuk Tengku Muhammad Fauzi Tengku Ibrahim, Deputy Commander of the Army, emphasized the event's purpose: "To honor the sacrifices of the Malaysian Armed Forces in protecting our nation's sovereignty." The run, organized by the Armed Forces' savings institution, also served as a platform to introduce the Armed Forces to the public.
