Sultan of Selangor's Ire Over Hajj Package Scam: Over 80 Pilgrims Stranded Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Sultan of Selangor, Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has expressed his outrage at the recent surge in Hajj package scams that have left numerous prospective pilgrims stranded. The incident involves more than 80 individuals who were found at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) using tourist visas instead of the proper Hajj pilgrimage permits. "We demand swift and decisive action against those responsible for exploiting the faith and hopes of these individuals." The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) has also voiced its concern and is urging all victims of this scam to immediately file police reports and provide complete information to the authorities. MAIS is also calling on the public to exercise caution and only engage with licensed and reputable Hajj agencies. The incident highlights the vulnerability of prospective pilgrims to fraud and underscores the need for increased vigilance and stricter regulations within the Hajj travel industry. The authorities are committed to investigating the matter thoroughly and bringing those responsible to justice.
