Ghana Data Price Hikes: Minister Addresses Public Concerns, Citing NCA Data
Ghana's Minister for Communications Sam George addressed the media today to clarify the recent surge in data prices. The press briefing, held at the Ministry of Communications, aimed to dispel public concerns about arbitrary charges and data loss. Minister George stated, "The facts do not support that claim." He presented data from the National Communications Authority (NCA) showing that data bundles were correctly credited during a recent test period and that no unexpected data losses occurred. The Minister also announced that the NCA will now conduct quarterly billing integrity tests for data services and provide reports to the Ministry, starting from Q3. This move underscores the government's commitment to transparency and consumer protection in the digital space.
