The driver reported earning $792.92 over a period of 57 hours and 39 minutes of "dash time," which included significant waiting periods. His "active time" for deliveries amounted to 23 hours and 48 minutes. Based on his total online time, the hourly rate calculates to approximately $13.67. However, when considering only the "active time" spent on deliveries, the rate rises to about $33.04 per hour. The driver also detailed his tax strategy, explaining that he drove 816 kilometers for DoorDash, allowing him to claim $848.64 in expenses, which would exempt his weekly earnings from tax. He noted the current quiet period for DoorDash, which has led him to pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors.
