However, when considering only the "active time" spent on deliveries, the rate rises to about $33.04 per hour. The driver also detailed his tax strategy, explaining that he drove 816 kilometers for DoorDash, allowing him to claim $848.64 in expenses, which would exempt his weekly earnings from tax. He noted the current quiet period for DoorDash, which has led him to pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors.
