Serbia's Fight Against Doping: Minister Highlights Successes and Challenges
Serbia Tackles Doping in Sports: Minister Gajić Discusses Anti-Doping Measures Belgrade, Serbia – Serbian Sports Minister Zoran Gajić recently spoke about the fight against doping in a televised interview on the popular morning show, "Jutro na Blic." Gajić emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the robust protocols in place to detect and prevent doping. He praised the work of Serbia's national anti-doping agency, describing it as one of the best in the world. However, Gajić also expressed concern about the prevalence of anabolic steroid use, particularly among young men aged 15-35. "We've found that 90% of those who use these substances lack the necessary education and understanding of the risks," Gajić stated. The ministry is launching educational campaigns to raise awareness of the dangers of doping and promote safe sports practices. The interview concluded with a call for increased public awareness and education to combat the misuse of performance-enhancing drugs. The ministry plans to continue its efforts to create a clean and fair sporting environment in Serbia.
