La Paz Faces Food Shortages Amidst Roadblocks; Government Launches Airlift Operation LA PAZ, BOLIVIA – Roadblocks across Bolivia have created significant challenges for the distribution of essential goods, leading to food shortages in some areas. In response, the Bolivian government has launched an emergency airlift operation to transport vital supplies to La Paz. Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Zenón Mamani, confirmed the operation, stating, "We are working with the private sector and the armed forces to ensure the supply of essential products for Bolivian families." The operation includes the transport of 268,000 kilos of chicken and 54 tons of cooking oil. This is the sixth plane to arrive in La Paz, transporting a total of 174,000 kilos of chicken, with more shipments planned for the coming days. The swift action taken by the government is intended to alleviate the immediate impact of the roadblocks and ensure the continued supply of essential goods to the population.
